Homepage redesign notes

This version keeps the existing AcademicPages/Jekyll template and content structure, with a focused visual refresh.

Files changed

• _pages/about.md
  • Added a stronger homepage introduction headline.
  • Added quick links to Publications, Research, Google Scholar, and CV.
  • Added three research-focus cards.
  • Kept the existing student-opening notice and news content.
• _sass/_custom.scss
  • Refined the color system, typography, spacing, and link styles.
  • Made the top navigation sticky with a light translucent background.
  • Updated the author profile photo and sidebar styling.
  • Added responsive hero, buttons, research cards, and news styling.
  • Improved mobile behavior.

No template or collection structure was replaced, so future AcademicPages updates remain relatively easy to manage.
